UK to Build 1,00MW Solar Plant in Iran

By John Lee.

Tehran Times reports that the British Photovoltaic Association (BPVA) will build a €1.5-billion 1,000-megawatt solar plant in Iran.

Describing itself as the “National Trade Association of the UK solar photovoltaic industry“, the organisation will also build a $25-million plant to make solar panels in Iran, transferring technical know-how.

Iranian Energy Minister Hamid Chitchian is quoted as saying:

Construction of the solar plant will be financed by attraction of foreign financial resources and investments, while the solar panel factory, with the capacity of 500 megawatts per annum [sic], will be built via cooperating with Iranian companies.
