As the worst drought in living memory grips South Africa, it has partnered with Iran to develop seawater desalination plants, according to a report from Reuters.
Water and Sanitation Minister Nomvula Mokonyane (pictured) told reporters:
“Now with the partnership that we have entered into through the binational commission between SA and Iran, we want to go full steam [ahead].”
While there were no indicative costs at this stage, the first investment meeting is planned for next month.
