A major Iranian oil conference in London has been postponed due to difficulties in obtaining visas for Iranian nationals to visit UK.
CWC‘s Iran Oil & Gas: Post-Sanction Summit was to take place 22nd-24thFebruary, with about 50 contracts worth more than $30 billion expected to be unveiled.
Ali Kardor (pictured), the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) deputy managing director for investment and finance, told Shana:
“There are many people from private sector who are interested to take part in the London conference but could not collect their visas because UK embassy in Tehran does not provide such services.”
The U.K. foreign ministry had no immediate comment on the situation.
Organisers CWC said a new date and location will be announced shortly.
