Russia will start supplying poultry and beef to Iran by mid-January, according to a report from Global Meat News.
Following a final inspection planned for 18th January, the Iranian Veterinary Organization is expected to approve supplies from Bryansk Broiler and Bryansk Meat Company.
In return, Russia is expected to reduce or eliminate tariffs on certain Iranian meat products. In May 2015, six Iranian companies were approved for exports to Russia, but no trade has taken place due to customs duties that were considered unreasonable.
Iranian officials have estimated that Iran could supply Russia with 10,000 tonnes of chicken per month.
