Henk Kamp, The Minister of Economic Affairs of the Netherlands, has met with Managing Director of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), Mohammad Reza Araqi, to discuss boosting gas ties.
During the meeting, the Dutch official said Dutch companies are prepared to boost their presence in Iran for investing in and constructing gas refineries and pipelines.
“The companies are ready to cooperate with NIGC in all levels and sectors and the meeting [with Mohammad Reza Araqi] is a starting point for starting their presence in Iran,” Kamp said.
“Dutch companies, regarding Iran’s massive gas reserves and its special strategic and geographic status, can enjoy immense cooperation and presence in the country,” said Araqi during the meeting.
The officials and executives of 29 Dutch industrial, economic and investment firms along with the Dutch ambassador to Tehran attended the meeting.
Kamp arrived in Tehran yesterday on the head of a large Dutch trade delegation to investigate new business opportunities in post-sanctions Iran.
Over 60 large Dutch companies active in the energy and agriculture sectors are accompanying Kamp in his trip.
