British, Japanese Insurers visit Iran

The Chairman and CEO of the Iran Insurance Company has hosted representatives of the British United Insurance Brokers (UIB) and Japanese insurer, Sompo.

The purpose of the meeting was to increase the level of interaction in the post-sanctions era, to develop reinsurance, to provide reinsurance coverage requirements, and to improve the coverage especially in property and life Insurance.

Abbas Hosseini (pictured), Chairman of the Board and CEO of Iran Insurance Co. welcomed the presence and activity of foreign companies in Iran, said: Given Iran’s unique economic capacities and opportunities, the necessary conditions are ready to expand economic cooperation with other countries and Iran Insurance is ready to develop cooperation in the field of transfer of knowledge and technical experience, technology, new services and market development.

Iran as one of the economic centers of West Asia has many investment opportunities and therefore many countries announced their readiness to interact with Iran in the post-sanctions era, and certainly Iran Insurance welcomes all the proposals while taking into account national interests and preserving the independency and mutual respect, Hosseini added.

Pointing to the secure investment in Iran, particularly among other countries in the region, he regarded it as an important fact in the development of future investment and cooperation.

Also according to the mutual agreement on the transfer of knowledge, technology and insurance experience to Iran, it was decided that Iran’s experts of aviation, oil, gas and petrochemical insurances participate in the UIB training courses.

The Japanese delegates also called for expansion of cooperation in the fields of life and property insurance.
