By John Lee.

According to a report from The Associated Press, Iran’s new telecommunications minister, Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi (pictured), says Twitter has “officially announced readiness to talk with Iran for resolving the problems,” potentially leading the way to the unblocking of the service.

Iran blocked Twitter, Facebook and YouTube following protests and violence over the 2009 re-election of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
