Shell Proposes Plan to Develop Iranian Oil Fields

At a meeting on Tuesday, Shell submitted its technical study plan to Iran’s Petroleum Engineering and Development Company (PEDEC) for developing the Azadegan and Yadavaran oil fields.

The meeting was attended by Sayyid Nooruddin Shahnazizadeh, CEO and PEDEC’s chairman of the board of directors, a team of experts in petroleum engineering management as well as Shell’s management team led by its Middle East’s upstream manager.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed between NIOC and Shell on December 2016 to conduct a technical study in Azadegan, Yadavaran, and Kish gas fields, that, based on this MoU, Shell was required to study the fields and by holding numerous technical and managerial meetings over a period of more than 6 months, the company was able to submit its comprehensive study plan to the company.

Once the plan is reviewed by NIOC, the decisions for the furthering the talks and approaching to the tender for the fields will be made.
