Aseman Airlines to Lease Airbus Jets

By John Lee.

Reuters reports that Iran Aseman Airlines has agreed to lease seven Airbus jets.

The leasing company has not been identified.

Last week the European Union banned the airline from operating within the EU because of safety concerns, although the airline does not fly to the EU.

Owned by Iran’s civil service pension foundation, and managed as a private company, Aseman is Iran’s third-largest airline by active fleet size.
