Reuters reports that a fire broke out on Wednesday at Mobin petrochemical refinery complex in the southern port of Assaluyeh.
State media said that four people were injured, but that the fire is now under control and poses no threat to operations in the South Pars gas fields.
It is the latest in a string of fires at petrochemical plants over recent months. Iran’s oil minister said that most of the fires happened because the privatised petrochemical companies have cut their budgets for health and safety inspections.
