Iranian Deputy Oil Minister for International Affairs Amir Hossein Zamaninia said Lebanon has expressed willingness to import oil and gas from Iran.
Beirut seeks to import oil and gas from Iran following the removal of anti-Tehran sanctions, Zamaninia said on Tuesday after a meeting with Lebanese Minister of Industry Hussein al-Haj Hassan in Tehran.
He added that the Arab country is also keen to cooperate with Iran in different fields, including training staff for Lebanon’s nascent oil sector.
Iran sits on the world’s fourth-largest oil and second-largest gas reserves, and is among the world’s top 10 oil and top five natural gas producers.
