Minister Highlights Importance of Tehran-Moscow Ties

Iran’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi said Tehran and Moscow have great potentials to boost their cooperation in diverse fields.

“We are interested in developing relations between Iran and Russia,” Vaezi said at a meeting with Russia’s Astrakhan Region Governor Alexander Zhilkin, the Tass news agency reported.

The Iranian minister further said that obstacles in the way of the two country’s visa regime, customs system and online banking transactions should be removed.

“We should pave the way for this, should ease visa regime, get rid of customs hurdles, ease online banking,” he said.

Vaezi arrived in the southern Russian city of Astrakhan last week. His trip will later take him to Moscow where he is scheduled to attend an economic forum and explore ways for the expansion of bilateral ties between Iran and Russia.
