Iranian Mines & Mining Industries Development & Renovation (IMIDRO) intends to carry out 34 mining projects by the calendar yearend to March 19 2017, a senior industrial official said.
Iranian Deputy Trade Minister and head of the IMIDRO, Mehdi Karbasian, said on Sunday that the projects will be completed with an investment of $7.2 billion.
Addressing a mining conference in Tehran, the official said IMIDRO successfully carried out 14 projects remaining from the previous administration with an investment of $1.3 billion.
“Furthermore, IMIDRO is working on 16 projects which it adopted over the past 2.5 years (since the beginning of the Rouhani administration),” he added.
Karbasian said an investment of $50 billion is needed for obtaining the 8 percent economic growth that has been envisaged by the 6th five-year development plan.
