Recovery of natural gas, condensate and other refinery products from phases 17 and 18 of the South Pars Gas Field has earned Iran more than $1.3 billion in revenues over the past 18 months.
The amount is nearly one quarter of all the investments in the two phases so far, said Hassan Boveiri, operator of the two phases at Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC).
He said production of natural gas started in January 2015 from 22 wells beneath 2 main offshore platforms. The recovered gas and other products are delivered to inshore refinery facilities by a 32-inch subsea pipelines.
Boveiri added that so far 8 billion cubic meters of sweetened gas, 4.6 million barrels of condensate, 95,000 tons of ethane, 148,000 tons of butan and liquid propane have been extracted from the two phases’ reserves.
