Iran’s Oil Minister has named Ali Kardor (pictured) as the new Chief Executive Officer of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC).
Bijan Zanganeh issued the decree following the resignation of Rokneddin Javadi from the position, according to a statement from NIOC; Javadi has been given the position of deputy minister in the supervision on hydrocarbon resources of NIOC.
Kardor previously served as NIOC’s deputy director of Investment and Financing.
The Wall Street Journal reports that the changes come after government officials expressed disagreement over how to handle foreign investment, and what kind of terms should be offered to foreign companies.
