Iranian President Hassan Rouhani called for efforts to use the good opportunity for a jump in economic relations between Tehran and Jakarta, as a lasting nuclear deal with world powers has rid Iran of the sanctions and enabled it to reconnect to the international banking network.
The removal of sanctions and reconnection of the banking links have set the ground for a jump in economic cooperation between Iran and Indonesia, President Rouhani said at a meeting with Indonesia’s Vice President Muhammad Jusuf Kalla, on the sidelines of the 13th Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Turkey’s Istanbul on Thursday.
President Rouhani stressed that the two Muslim countries should take the opportunity to enhance ties in all fields.
Tehran and Jakarta have great potential for closer cooperation in energy, industries, tourism, as well as scientific and cultural interaction, he added.
The Indonesian official, for his part, said Iran’s success to reach a nuclear deal with world powers has prepared the ground for the expansion of relations with Tehran in all fields.
