Europe Takes First Delivery of Post-Sanctions Iranian Oil

By John Lee.

The first tanker to deliver Iranian crude to Europe since mid-2012 has docked at the Spanish port of Algeciras on Sunday, and started to offload its cargo.

Carrying 1 million barrels of crude, the Monte Toledo made the journey from Iran in 17 days, according to a report from Bloomberg.

The oil is destined for a refinery (pictured) owned by Cia. Espanola de Petroleos (CESPA).
