Visa problems have forced the postponement of a major conference on Iranian banking due to be held in London next month.
A statement from the organisers, Euromoney, said that they hope to reschedule for 11th May, also in London.
The plans were changed after Iranian delegates were unable to secure visas to enter the UK.
An Iranian oil and gas conference, due to be held in London last week, was also cancelled for similar reasons, and may now be held in Iran.
A source close to the Treasury told Sky News that the visa problems were not the fault of the British Government, insisting that UK Visas & Immigration had “not refused to process a single application“.
