Iran, Germany to set up Joint Shipping Line

A German company intends to set up a joint shipping company with Iran.

The Managing Director of the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL), Mohammad Saeedi (pictured), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the owners of German shipping company PWL Group during a visit to Hamburg.

Under the agreement, PWL will provide IRISL with an array of services in a number of ports in northern European countries including Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium.

According to the report from MNA, the joint venture will become operational from the beginning of March.

IRISL has previously signed an MoU with French group CMA-CGM.
