German Firm to Invest €1b in Iran’s Copper Industry

Germany copper company Mansfelder Kupfer und Messing GmbH has signed a memorandum of understanding to invest €1-billion in a number of project in Iran.

IRNA reports that under the deal, signed with the National Iranian Copper Industries Company (NICICO), MKM would help Iran develop its downstream industries to obtain copper from copper cathodes; MKM also offered to purchase an annual amount of 70,000 tons of produced copper cathodes from NICICO.
