China to Build 2 Power Plants for $1bn

The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) has said a contract for the construction of two power plants in cooperation with China has been prepared and will be discussed during the visit of the Chinese president on Friday.

Ali Akbar Salehi  (pictured) said the construction of the two 1000 MW power plants, worth roughly $994 million, will begin in February.

He added that Iran’s next projects include small 100 MW power plants.

In addition, the country’s first nuclear hospital is to be built at a cost of approximately $331 million, becoming fully operational within 5 years, a being one of the largest hospitals in West Asia.
