The Managing director of the Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company (IOEC) hsa said the Iranian firm is in negotiations with foreign counterparts to launch offshore projects based on the newly introduced petroleum contract models (IPC).
“IOEC will cooperate as partner or contractor with the international companies,” Gholamreza Manuochehri told Shana.
“Some 30 offshore projects which are beyond the exploration phase such as North Pars, South Pars, Golshan and Ferdowsi, and Arash and Foruzan fields as well as a section of offshore projects are ready to be developed,” he added.
He referred to Iran’s enormous offshore development capacity and the affiliated projects which have not been introduced because of the absence of competent offshore companies. “Considering the available facilities, they can now be introduced.”
“As leading companies that could survive under the sanctions, IOEC and Iranian companies can prove reliable partners for major international companies in drilling and offshore projects,” the CEO said.
Representatives from 137 petroleum heavyweights including Royal Dutch Shell, Total and Lukoil attended the IPC Conference in Tehran on November 28-29. The representatives came from 45 countries. Totally, 335 companies participated in the two-day event to be the first to know about the contract terms. A follow-up conference will be held in London on February 22-24 after the IPC event in Tehran.
