Russia to Fulfill Contract for S-300 Missiles

Russia and Iran are reported to be proceeding with a contract for Moscow to supply Tehran with S-300 surface-to-air missile systems.

Tehran signed an $800-million contract with Moscow in 2007, but Russia postponed delivery in 2010 after the U.N. imposed strict sanctions on Iran.

Russia’s RIA Novosti quoted Rostec chief Sergei Chemezov as saying:

“The contract for the supply of S-300s to Iran was not only signed by the parties, but has entered into force.”
