Major Swedish enterprises are reported to be preparing to invest in the Iranian economy as soon as the sanctions against the country are lifted.
Hans-Aake Danielsson, a spokesman for Scania, told Bloomberg:
“We are ready … If and when it takes off, Iran can be a significant market for Scania.”
Ericsson spokeswoman Karin Hallstan said the company has had customers in Iran “for over 100 years” and plans to “explore opportunities” with new ones as it monitors developments following the nuclear deal.
A major Swedish trade delegation is expected to visit Iran in the near future.
Swiss-Swedish power transformer producer ABB is also said to be interested in Iran.
